Hello fellow SNIP users! It’s me again, and I’m back with another exciting development in our journey to make SNIP better than ever. You might remember me mentioning our collaboration with Cloudflare in our previous posts, and today I want to dive a little deeper into the magic behind the scenes.

You see, the original SNIP plugin (and its API) was built using PHP, which presented some challenges when it came to migrating the API to Cloudflare. But as they say, necessity is the mother of invention! I turned to the cutting-edge technology of GPT-3/4 to help me overcome this challenge and convert some of the source code from PHP to JavaScript. Yes, you read that right – I used the power of AI to transform some parts of the API and make it compatible with Cloudflare’s infrastructure.

Here’s a quick overview of how I did it:

1. I harnessed the power of this advanced AI model to analyse and understand the PHP source code, which allowed me to identify patterns and structures that needed to be translated into JavaScript.
2. Using GPT-3/4, I meticulously rewrote some of the source code, ensuring that all features and functionality were preserved during the transition from PHP to JavaScript.
3. Once converted, I rigorously tested the new API routes to ensure that everything was working smoothly and efficiently, making tweaks and optimisations where necessary.

The result? A redesigned SNIP API that not only runs on Cloudflare’s powerful platform, but also delivers lightning-fast performance, improved stability, and a seamless update mechanism. All of this was made possible by harnessing the power of GPT-3/4 and embracing the future of AI-driven development.
